Fraser, MI – IMAO Fixtureworks, manufacturer and supplier of workholding components, offers TG GripSert carbide gripper inserts that are designed for ultra-low profile clamping with no dovetail workpiece preparation. With only 3.5mm of clamp surface needed to securely hold the workpiece, TG-type GripSert workholding inserts are ideal for 5-axis machining operations.

Because of the geometry of the grippers, TG GripSert workholding inserts create a pull down effect that prevents any lifting of the workpiece while clamping. These patented triangular grippers feature two rows of teeth at different angles to maximize the pull down effect and prevent lifting of the workpiece. The serrations are designed for steel, hardened steel/titanium, and aluminum workpieces.

TG GripSert workholding inserts offer many advantages over traditional clamping systems including exceptional clamping stability, no need for pre-machining or dovetailing workpieces, vibration dampening and allowing for very secure holding at lower clamping forces to avoid deforming the workpiece. This results in a higher cutting rate and less waste of materials than traditional clamping systems. GripSert tools, jaws and other accessories are available.

The TG GripSert inserts are ideal for upgrading existing vises. Retrofit jaw kits are available for Kurt 6” vises, sold with or without parallels.
